In partnership with the team at the Narrative Initiative, we’ve created a Narrative Tech section in the Civic Tech Field Guide. It’s dedicated to the work of shaping how narratives are created, distributed, tracked and absorbed into society.
Narrative Technology encompasses the tools, platforms, and infrastructure that can be used to assist and accelerate the shifting and/or maintenance of dominant narratives. These include, but aren’t limited to, technologies that can baseline, listen to, test, and respond to media and online discourse at scale.
On the page, you’ll find new subcategories like Big Listening, Story tech, and ten examples of story-based campaigns. You’ll also find lots of related reading to help you become an expert and inform your own work to improve society through the stories we tell ourselves.
As always, you can help us in this work by adding new projects as you see them. And please, let us know when the Civic Tech Field Guide’s been useful to you.
Oh! And while we were at it, we added a few hundred new civic tech projects from across the entire field. You can always view the most recent 50 projects at civictech.guide/new.
