Directory Project Types

We organize entries by their type:

A project is a single instance of work to apply tech for the public good. For example, a specific city’s Participatory Budgeting program could be considered a project.

An organization is a formally or informally defined group using tech for the public good. It is not a product, but rather the company, non-profit, or government department behind the product.

A tool is a repurposable instrument others can use to get something done.

A resource is a material that can be used to aid in public interest work. For example, an open syllabus or a set of free graphic design assets.

Methods are the abstracted processes employed by a project, such as the method of participatory budgeting itself.

A campaign is an organized series of actions geared toward a specific goal: elect someone, end an injustice, etc. The best campaigns are time-bound.

Media refers to visual or creative media created about tech for the public good, such as a podcast, film, video, or game.
