AI71 is a newly launched artificial intelligence company by Abu Dhabi’s Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC). AI71 collaborates closely with the research team at Technology Innovation Institute (TII), which developed the globally top-ranked Falcon AI open-source large language models. With a team from the best technology and business players out there, including Google DeepMind, Amazon, Microsoft, and Mckinsey’s Quantum Black, AI71 aims to offer a unique place to work on AI in the region. ### Project Summary Citizens routinely face many barriers when accessing vital government information and services. Government workers also encounter challenges in delivering timely support due to outdated systems, language barriers, and limited resources. We are building conversational AI assistants that can streamline access to public information, deliver empathetic support around-the-clock, and strengthen bonds between governments and people. Our approach comprises three interlinked and interdisciplinary initiatives: a participatory design approach with governments, the use of open-source Falcon generative AI models, and advanced AI research on factuality and explainability. Our long-term objective is to revolutionize how citizens interact with their governments while promoting widespread adoption of AI in a sustainable, ethical, and privacy-preserving manner.
