Civic tech prototype development contest for students and youth under 22 (since 2020)
Launched in the summer of 2020 based on an idea by students at Asahikawa National College of Technology, who were concerned about the loss of extracurricular activities and job-hunting opportunities during the COVID-19 pandemic. The program has trained more than 600 student civic hackers to date. It consists of regional ideathons, online hands-on workshops, and a final judging session.


Building on over 5 years of work supporting PB processes across North America, the Participatory Budgeting Project (PBP) has created this toolkit to help organizers and advocates start new PB processes.
