The Newsroom was born in December 2020 out of a shared passion for information and a growing frustration with polarisation. It's been built for news readers, to help them navigate the news and bring nuance and perspectives to news reading, in a world of filter bubbles and rising polarisation.
Here we introduce StraightLines, a proof-of-concept tool developed by AOI’s Lucid Lens team, that automatically rewrites news headlines to reflect the content of articles in a more accurate, less sensational way.
