Our goal is to consolidate a framework for citizen participation on data and AI, especially one that is relevant to underrepresented groups. To do this we will map and explore existing citizen participation frameworks on data and AI as well as create a community of practice to discuss, share ideas and exchange learnings on how to consolidate and disseminate a framework for participation across the lifecycle of the algorithmic system. We will then identify influence mechanisms and disseminate the framework, including advocacy activities to demand the opening of spaces for meaningful citizen participation in the design, development, implementation and evaluation of AI policies.
