Scrutinizing what steps platforms have taken to protect election integrity globally

This is especially true for elections occurring outside of Europe and North America, in Global Majority countries. In our analysis of public-facing announcements and interventions announced by large tech platforms, we determined that platforms are consistently unprepared for election cycles and under-resource election interventions in the Global Majority.
The Global Coalition for Tech Justice is a newly formed global movement to ensure Big Tech plays its role in protecting elections and citizens’ rights and freedoms across the world, particularly in the global majority where companies – Meta/Facebook, Google/YouTube, Twitter, TikTok et al – have been negligent in dealing with the impacts of their social media and messaging products.
