This involved recruiting a cohort of paid community advisers to ensure the newsroom lives up to its founding values. With support from the San Francisco Foundation, the diverse group helps us track and grow the impact of our journalism. Its seven members, one for each Oakland district, read our stories and give us feedback to ensure we stay true to our founding values.
