Karakutu
A decentralized archive that brings hidden censorship into view by safeguarding suppressed journalism in Turkey
Active
Essen
Made for exiled journalists, researchers, and diaspora communities, this decentralized archive brings hidden censorship into view by safeguarding suppressed journalism in Turkey, where tens of thousands of news articles have vanished from public access since 2014. It operates a smart-contract-coordinated miner network that watches news outlets for deletions, then routes each one through a verification pipeline before a human auditor confirms it.
