Chattanooga Civic Dialogue

Chattanooga has launched a pilot with Google's Jigsaw and Change.org called Civic Dialogue, that gathers residents' ideas on parks and transit, then uses "Sensemaking AI" to surface the proposals with the broadest support before a group of residents workshops them into policy.

Through mid-August, any Chattanoogan can submit ideas on parks and public transportation at cha.city/civic-dialogue, after which Jigsaw and Change.org's AI clusters the responses to find where consensus actually lies. A selected group of residents then develops the strongest ideas into proposals, which Mayor Tim Kelly has committed to reviewing for points of agreement the city might act on. It's part of a Change.org rollout that's already run in a dozen US cities from Tulsa to Schenectady.
