Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Mount Vernon Place Northwest, Washington, DC, USA

An annual gathering of progressive organizers from across issues and around the country who learn, celebrate, and grow together.

RootsCamp isn't your everyday gathering; it's an unconference. Instead of pre-set powerpoints and expert panels, participants design sessions and decide the program. The idea is to bring together progressives of all stripes as equals, and have an honest exchange of ideas. When we learn from one another, we take away new ideas, make new connections, and strengthen our work.

In the past, participants have come from all over the country, and even around the globe. Data geeks from the biggest national campaigns trade lessons learned with field innovators from school board races in Pittsburgh. Or climate change organizers from Switzerland share best practices with marriage equality advocates from Maine. It's all there and the more people we have, the more ideas will get turned into world-changing campaigns!

RootsCamp is also a rare opportunity for D.C. insiders to interact directly with people fighting on the front lines, and a unique space to begin an honest discussion about what worked, what didn't, and how we grow stronger together.
