How do we ensure that AI promotes democratic participation, rather than hinders it? That was the question behind AI for Digital Democracy: New Guidance from Global Case Studies, a global webinar that brought together more than 300 participants. Together with UNDP, FNF Global Innovation Hub, and People Powered, we launched the updated Digital Participation Guide, which now includes practical guidance on AI.

This work was jump-started by the Civic Tech Field Guide’s data, especially on digital participation platforms. It also contributed significantly to our new tech Features section of the site, with over 30 AI for participation features.
